According to a Pew Research Center article, the roles of moms and dads have begun to converge!
To me, this is great news. Many seem to believe that we are living in a post-feminist world already. I certainly grew up ignoring sexism and acting like there was nothing else to change, and no more mountians to climb in the name of gender equality. Change is still on the horizon, though, as shown in this article, and more change is necessary as well. As the glass ceiling is thinning, reaching convergence between the traditional gender roles in the home and perhaps rising up to put to rest all the old prejudices, it make me feel like progress is still attainable. It sure seems like we are going in the right direction (though that appears to go for the binary genders only at this time).
Cheers to the new family!
